When an SSL is requested, Geotrust will send an email to the approver of the domain.
Geotrust can send the approver email to
- A valid contact on the whois dataabase that is able to receive the approver email and click on the link to approve the SSL. If it is a private registration or whois is not valid then it can be any one of the following email addresses within the SSL domain:
- admin@
- administrator@
- hostmaster@
- webmaster@
- postmaster@
