WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CO-LOCATIONS AND DEDICATED SERVERS?


When a server is co-located, the equipment belongs to the customer. The customer is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the server and software.


When a server is dedicated, the equipment belogs to Gotham Web Services. We are responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting server hardware.

CAN WE HAVE GOTHAM WEB SERVICES MANAGE OUR CO-LOCATION?

WHAT DOES THE STANDARD 24/7 MONITORING INCLUDE?


Each co-located server includes standard 24/7 monitoring of a single device. This can be URL monitoring , generic ping, service monitoring or application monitoring. If ever there is a problem with the monitored device, we will notify you via email or pager. Servers are polled every 60 seconds.


WHAT DOES THE ENTERPRISE 24/7 MONITORING INCLUDE?


Enterprise monitoring will monitor up to 6 additional ports or services on your co-located server. We will also attempt to recover the service according to customer instructions should it fail and notify you via email or pager. The monitors can be URL monitoring , generic ping, service monitoring or application monitoring. Servers are polled every 60 seconds.


WHAT TECHNICAL SUPPORT IS INCLUDED WITH CO-LOCATED SERVERS?


We will provide standard 24/7 monitoring and unlimited reboots for each co-located server. Additional support is available, such as hardware or software support, and will be billed at $175 per hour. HOW IS MY CO-LOCATED SERVER CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET?


Co-located servers are connected through a 100mb or 1000mb connection.


DO I NEED TO PROVIDE MY OWN SWITCHES WHEN CO-LOCATING MY SERVERS?


No, your servers will be connected to our switches. However customers may choose to provide their own switches which will be placed below our routers.


DOES GOTHAM WEB SERVICES HAVE NETWORK REDUNDANCY?


We are connected to the Internet via multiple redundant connections on one of the largest IP networks in the world.
